4.2. Learning tasks

This is a 6 ECTS course organized as follows:

• Lectures.
• Practice sessions.
• Autonomous work and study.
• Assessment tasks.

4.3. Syllabus

This course will address the following topics:

• Topic 1. The social context of literary translation.
• Topic 2. Translational dualities and specific issues in the translation of literary texts.
• Topic 3. Translation techniques in literary translation.
• Topic 4. Text and cultural context: domestication and foreignization.
• Topic 5. Translational operations and problems.
• Topic 6. Translating tasks: translation, revision and adaptation.
• Topic 7. Techniques in audiovisual adaptations of literary texts.
